Description

28th IAEA Fusion Energy Conference (FEC 2020)

The 28th IAEA Fusion Energy Conference (FEC 2020) aims at providing a forum for the discussion of key physics and technology issues as well as innovative concepts of direct relevance to fusion as a source of nuclear energy.

For the third time since the first convention in Salzburg in 1961, the FEC is coming back to France. The issues to discuss during this 28th edition are of no small import: ITER is preparing for machine assembly, with First Plasma is just six years away; a number of updated tokamaks are scheduled to come back on line in the world in 2020; and never before in history have there been so many fusion start-ups and private enterprises joining the quest for fusion energy—with one magazine even writing about “fusion fever” on its cover! We live in interesting times!

At FEC2020 there will also be a premiere to celebrate: for the first time EUROfusion will present its new travelling exhibition. We don’t want to raise the curtain just yet, but be assured that it will be impressive…
